Why Social Media Marketing Works

Welcome to Part 3: Why Social Media Marketing Works.

It is a big world out there and thanks to Social Media, we can all be connected in one way or another and that is what makes it work. The main purpose of Social Media Marketing is to somehow use these different mediums to gain more traffic and create a presence worldwide. The word Social Media by itself does not describe anything specific but a plethora of programs/network and services fall under its umbrella. The main goal of Part 3 will be to discuss the following mediums and how each one of them can be used to increase your traffic and strengthen your web presence.:

  • Google +:
  • Facebook:
  • YouTube:
  • LinkedIn:
  • Twitter:
  • Pinterest:
  • Instagram:
  • Tumblr:
  • Wealthy Affiliate: Wait What?

Of course each individual will have its preference so you may or may not use all of them but if you take the time to learn about each, you will see that using all of them will help you create that presence. So let’s start. I will give a brief overview of each medium with Social Media Marketing in mind.

Google +:

We all use Google, it is the number one search engine in the world but did you know that there are many benefits to also using Google +?

By making Google + a part of your business plan, you could:

  • Enjoy better ranking with Google,
  • Increase your Author Value, this is where your ‘rating’ with Google goes up as you expand and create better content that builds the trust that Google will have in you. Google is big on having trustworthy relations with you.
  • Your indexing with Google could be augmented.

After creating your profile and linking your website, you may want to create Google pages where you sue Google + as a platform to establish and build relationships and work with like-minded people that share the same interests and topics as you do. Your goal is basically to build your own community.

Tumblr has over 420 million users and is owned by Yahoo. Very popular with anyone with a creative side, Tumblr is underused business wise. You could actually set up WordPress to auto post your blogs on Tumblr using the plugin Tumblr Crosspostr. How cool is that?
